Now launching: the Moon Lake Experience!
We're stoked to announce Quapaw Canoe Company & Kathryn's on Moon Lake are partnering to offer a Picnic & Paddle on Moon Lake -- details below. We're celebrating this Labor Day weekend with a special outdoor concert Friday 5pm: A Tale of Two Johns, featuring John Mohead & John Ruskey Live From Clarksdale. It's free and socially-distanced, behind Quapaw by the Sunflower River -- BYOB & lawn chairs.
The Moon Lake Experience is 2.5hrs on Saturday, Sep. 5. It begins with a behind-the-scenes tour of Kathryn's: you'll learn what makes their Southern fare so special, why Tennessee Williams wrote about Moon Lake in his plays, and how this "oxbow" you paddle was once the mighty Mississippi. Then Quapaw will outfit you with a stand-up paddle board or canoe and direct you to the nearest cypress grove. You'll paddle out with specially-made Kathryn's Southern Picnic Platter to enjoy on the lake.
This outdoor adventure is socially-distanced and intended for individuals, couples, families, and social pods (no groups for now, please).
