This Sunday: join us with Jimbo Mathus, the Parchman Band, Robert Kimbrough Sr. & Gracey Williams. We're throwing a Blues Country Harvest Party at Hopson Hospitality, Noon-5pm.
On Saturday, we'll be downtown for the Tennessee Williams Festival and Crossroads blues fest -- then rocking some good Delta country with MIKE ELLIS And The Hometown Band at Hopson, starting 7pm.
Stafford Shurden is serving his famous gumbo, and Arena Mariette Chambers will be leading the line dancing on Sunday.
The Clarksdale Carnegie Public Library will also bring its new "Blues on the Farm" exhibit of historic Hopson photos to share.
Boots, fans, cowboy hats: all optional but encouraged! Families welcome.
We've been sowing seeds, talking about “Blues on the Farm” and what it means to be from “blues country” in the heart of the Delta. We're honoring our history here, and working on revival.
The Parchman Band is reviving, too: this is among their first public shows this year. We're thrilled to bring them from “The Farm” down the road to Hopson’s historic farm here.
Farmers know: we've all been through a rough season, but can still see beauty in the harvest.
Whether you’ve got Southern soul or your heart is singing some serious country blues– come play it loud and dance it out, together.
