The Moon Lake Experience (Paddle Board)

Experience Moon Lake, Mississippi: canoe or paddleboard through the cypress groves of Moon Lake -- and enjoy both history and a Kathryn's catered picnic along the way. The experience begins with a behind-the-scenes tour of the historic Kathryn's of Moon Lake. See what makes their Southern fare so special, and why Tennessee Williams wrote about Moon Lake in his plays. Learn what an oxbow is, and how the waters you paddle were once the Mighty Mississippi. Choose a stand-up paddle board or canoe, and take a specially-made Kathryn's Southern Picnic Platter out on the lake with you. Eat on the water in the shade of the cypress trees, and enjoy a truly Delta outdoor experience! DETAILS: Please select the Paddle Board or Canoe option at the time of booking. BOOK BY 9PM FRIDAY so we can be ready for you. If you need a vegetarian or gluten-free picnic platter, please specify in your Notes field at time of booking. This is a COVID-friendly, socially distanced outdoor experience: NO groups, please. Masks are required while on land, with 6ft distance respected at all times. If booking for more than 1 person, please be a couple, family, or social pod. Life jacket, paddle board or canoe, and all picnic materials provided. Waterproof phone pouch and towels available for rental. Please bring your own water bottle and sunscreen. Advanced beginner to intermediate paddlers only: intro lessons not provided. Children ages 8+ welcome, but must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Each canoe seats 2 people. Within 3 days of booking, please check your email for a waiver of liability and detailed directions. We'll get you set up in advance, so you can spend less lake-time on paperwork and more time on the water!

Cancellation Policy

We understand: things happen. You can cancel or reschedule up to 24hrs in advance. No-shows will be fully charged, as many guides are local residents and community leaders who reschedule their "day jobs" to host you for each experience; we value their time and them!
